In four years as an editor at the TimesLedger Newspapers in Queens, New York, I did a lot of design work. Often I worked on our showcase spreads for special packages, big stories, or in-depth takeouts. As an editor, I was writing headlines also, so it was a very hands-on and content-aware design process.
