Drawing on my previous career in media, I spend a great deal of time at Berkeley studying and designing software for digital publishing and textual analysis. For my capstone project, Rebook, I designed and prototyped a web platform for nondeterministic storytelling. With Prof. Bob Glushko I led a research group to define core values and best practices for the next generation of ebooks and served as a software developer and contributing author for The Discipline of Organizing, a new and essential core text for information science programs. With Prof. Marti Hearst, I studied information extraction and natural language processing and am leading the design and full-stack development of open-source software for deep textual analysis.
